In short: you must be 18 or over and be yourself. Treat people well and follow our Community guidelines. Trooze is free. You own what you post, and you can delete your account whenever you like. We check photos, review every report, and may remove anyone who puts other members at risk.
1. About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and trooze.com (“Trooze”, “we”, “us”) for using Trooze, the dating app and website at trooze.com. Our Community guidelines are part of these terms. Our Privacy policy explains how we use your information.
You agree to these terms when you create an account. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Trooze.
You can try Your type, our face quiz, without an account. These terms apply to that too, including that you must be 18 or over, and to anything you share from it.
2. Who can use Trooze
To use Trooze, you must:
- be 18 or over
- be using Trooze for yourself, to meet people, and not for any business
- not have been removed from Trooze before
- not be on the sex offenders register, and have no unspent convictions for a violent or sexual offence
- be allowed to use Trooze under the law where you live
You can have one account.
3. Your account
- Give your real first name and date of birth, and keep your email address up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. We recommend turning on two-factor sign-in in Settings. If you think someone else has got into your account, change your password and tell us.
- You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
4. What you post
Your photos, videos, voice recordings, words and messages stay yours. To run Trooze, you give us permission to store them, make copies in the sizes and formats the app needs, and show them to other members as the app is designed to. This permission is free, isn’t exclusive, and ends when you delete them or your account, except where we keep a copy for a report (see our Privacy policy).
Only post things you have the right to share. You’re responsible for what you post, and it must follow our Community guidelines.
5. Meeting people
Trooze helps you meet people, but we don’t check members’ identities or backgrounds, and we can’t promise that everyone is who they say they are. Take care, especially before you meet anyone or share personal details, and read our Safety centre. If anything happens that worries you, report it to us, and to the police if it’s a crime.
We can’t promise you’ll find a match.
6. Things you mustn’t do
As well as following the Community guidelines, you mustn’t:
- break the law, or use Trooze to help anyone else break it
- use Trooze to sell, advertise or promote anything, or to ask for money
- collect information about other members, including by scraping, bots or other automated means
- create accounts automatically, or buy, sell or share accounts
- try to get round a suspension, a ban or someone blocking you
- interfere with how Trooze works, test its security without our permission, or try to get at its code or data
7. How we keep Trooze safe
- A person on our team checks every photo and video intro before other members can see it.
- Software on our own server checks photos for nudity, so explicit photos sent in chat are blurred until the person chooses to see them.
- We automatically check messages and profiles for common signs of scams and spam, like asking for money. We may show a warning in the conversation, and our team may look at what was flagged.
- A person on our team reviews every report. Software never suspends or removes anyone on its own.
If you break these terms or the Community guidelines, or we believe you’re putting members at risk, we may remove what you’ve posted, warn you, suspend your account, or remove it for good. We may also stop the email address joining again. We’ll normally tell you what we’ve done and why, unless that would put someone at risk or harm an investigation. Where someone may be in danger or a crime may have been committed, we may share information with the police (see our Privacy policy).
8. Complaints and appeals
You can complain to us about anything on Trooze, including content you think is illegal or harmful, how we’ve handled a report, or something we’ve done to your account. Use Report in the app for a member or message, or email info@trooze.com.
If we’ve removed your content, or suspended or removed your account, and you think we got it wrong, email info@trooze.com from the address on your account and tell us why. A person will look at it again, with anything new you’ve told us, and we’ll tell you what we decide, normally within 14 days.
9. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, under Delete my account. It happens straight away, and it can’t be undone. What we delete, and the little we keep, is set out in our Privacy policy.
10. Price
Trooze is free. If we ever offer paid features, we’ll tell you clearly what they cost before you pay, and you won’t have to pay for anything you use today without agreeing to it first.
11. Changes to Trooze and to these terms
We’re always improving Trooze, so features may change. We try to keep it running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of faults.
If we make an important change to these terms, the Community guidelines or the Privacy policy, we’ll tell you in the app and ask you to agree before you carry on. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
12. Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms, or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We’re not responsible for loss or damage that wasn’t foreseeable, or for business losses, because Trooze is for personal use only.
We’re not responsible for what other members say or do, on Trooze or when you meet them, except where the law makes us responsible.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.
13. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
