Trooze is about being yourself: Yours, truly. These guidelines keep it a place where people can be. They’re part of our Terms of use, and they apply everywhere on Trooze: your profile, your messages, and when you meet someone you found here.
Be yourself
- Use your own first name and your real date of birth. You must be 18 or over.
- Use photos of you, taken recently. Your first photo should show your face clearly, and only you. Don’t use filters that change how you look.
- Your live photo, taken with the Trooze camera, must be of you, there and then. Don’t photograph a screen, a printed picture or someone else.
- Be honest in your profile: your height, your job, what you’re looking for, and whether you’re single.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else, and don’t make an account for anyone else. One account each.
Be respectful
- No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation, on Trooze or off it.
- No hate. Never attack anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- Take no for an answer. If someone doesn’t reply, unmatches or blocks you, leave them be, and don’t try to find them elsewhere.
- Don’t share anyone’s personal details, messages or photos without their permission.
Keep it consensual
- No nudity or sexual content in your photos, videos, voice intro, prompts or bio.
- Never send sexual messages, photos or videos to someone who hasn’t clearly said they want them. Sending someone an unwanted sexual image (“cyberflashing”) is a crime in the UK. We blur explicit photos in chat until the person chooses to see them.
- Never share, or threaten to share, intimate images of someone. That’s a crime too, and we’ll report it to the police.
- When you meet, consent matters: it has to be given freely, and it can be taken back at any time.
Keep it safe
- Nothing involving anyone under 18, ever. No photos of children on their own. We report any sexual content involving children to the police.
- No violence, threats of violence, weapons used to intimidate, or anything that encourages someone to hurt themselves.
- Nothing illegal, including selling drugs or anything else that’s against the law.
- If someone seems to be at risk of harming themselves, encourage them to call Samaritans free on 116 123, and tell us. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999.
No scams, spam or selling
- Never ask anyone for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or bank details, or offer them an “investment”.
- No advertising, promoting, recruiting or selling, including sex work or escort services.
- No phone numbers, social media handles, links or QR codes in your profile or photos. Swap details in chat once you’re ready.
- No fake accounts, bots, or sending the same message to lots of people.
Photos and videos
We check every photo and video intro before anyone else sees it. We won’t approve:
- nudity, or sexual or very revealing photos (swimwear is fine where it fits, like at the beach)
- photos where you can’t be seen, or a first photo of a group
- photos of other people without their permission, or of children on their own
- photos of famous people, cartoons, or pictures that aren’t of you
- violence, weapons, hate symbols, or anything illegal
- text, watermarks, contact details or QR codes
If someone breaks these guidelines
Please report them: open their profile and use Report, or in a conversation tap the ⋯ menu or press and hold a message. Reports are private, and a person on our team looks at every one. You can also block anyone, at any time.
Depending on what happened, we may:
- remove a photo, video, prompt or message
- send a warning
- suspend the account for a while
- remove the account for good, and stop the same email address joining again
- tell the police, when someone may be in danger or a crime may have been committed
If we’ve taken action on your account and you think we got it wrong, email info@trooze.com and a person will look at it again. See complaints and appeals in our Terms.
